Spencer is and always has been a high-energy entrepreneur who seeks to motivate those around him. Spencer’s extensive leadership experience makes him efficient in collaborative work-team environments. His motivation and aspirations come from the innate opportunity to create and develop innovative strategic thinking and business growth models.
As a high school senior, Spencer had to complete a service project to fulfill the long-term effort of becoming an Eagle Scout. This required service project is often times a “make it or break it” for young boy scouts looking to achieve the rare rank of Eagle Scout. Inspired by the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Crisis; Spencer created a service project that’s purpose was to help contribute to the awareness of environmental hazard preventative practices. With the support of volunteers and the United States Coast Guards, Spencer was able to raise thousands of dollars in an effort to reduce 3,000+ square miles of surface oil within a weeks time of his Eagle Scout service project completion date.
Prior to Range Marketing, Spencer had many business-oriented ventures that lead to his education and skillset of operating a business.
In college, Spencer was a true pioneer of the e Cigarette industry: At 21 years old, Spencer opened the second ever E-Cigarette retail store in the bustling city of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (2014)
Within the same year of opening his e Cigarette business, he was able to sell the business for profit and shift focus on finishing school. Spencer finished school in 2016 and acquired his Bachelor of Science in Marketing at Duquesne University; Palumbo Donahue School of Business. However, his business ventures didn’t stop during that time.
In 2015, Spencer started and successfully operated a hoverboard import company. Hoverboard International sold products online through social media platforms in their local market to consumers looking for this temporarily hot product. Spencer and his partners developed one of the fastest growing custom hoverboard business ideas prior to the product having a nationwide import ban on battery safety.
After graduating from Duquesne, Spencer dove into the nuances of the small capital M&A space (Mergers and Acquisitions under 50M). With the experience of starting businesses from the ground up, selling the business for profit, and dealing with the legal nuances, this was a logical next step in his professional development. Spencer accelerated in the brokerage business and quickly became renown nationwide by other brokers in the industry as a top exit strategy specialist for business owners.
During Spencer’s time as a broker, he was able to become a Certified Main Street Business Broker. Spencer’s brokerage career continues to exist with referral business and the future development of RBI, Range Brokers International.
One interesting and majorly overlooked achievement in Spencer’s business ventures was his start-up called Gene Theory (also 2016), a company that never fully launched into the products market. This business was designed and inspired by his prior eCommerce experience. Before Spencer could even launch the business to market, he quickly became acquainted with the Founders of Range Marketing and was appointed to his current position as our CEO.
